This newest version maintains the trademark stylish, sporty look and feel while still providing comfortable luxury features that Maxima owners have come to expect.The Maxima is offered in two trims: 3.5 S and 3.5 SV. A 290-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Standard safety fare includes; traction control, stability control, dual-stage front airbags, front seat side-impact airbags, full-length overhead curtain airbags, front seat active head restraints, and a tire pressure monitor. Available technology includes a voice-activated navigation system, rear camera, dual-panel moonroof, XM NavTraffic, XM NavWeather, and a 9.3 GB Music Box hard drive.The Maxima continues with minor package changes for 2013.

The cut-out dash near the windshield is unique, and it's lined with a suede material (which makes its way around to the doors) that entices you to touch it.The engine is an absolute joy to use and defines the term 'silky smooth.' Instant power is available in any gear at any rpm -- no waiting.

Though not significantly different in size than the Altima, the new Maxima conveys more of an aggressive, upscale image, thanks to a more distinct, coupe-like shape, more arched roof, and large, styled wheels.

Behind the wheel, the driving experience is pleasant, with sharp steering and a comfortable but firm ride with excellent control over bumpy back roads. It's on curvy, rough roads where the Maxima's fully independent rear suspension setup shines.
